Just a rhetorical question ...

How can one fix a stupid fight with someone that has gone on way too long, when they obviously don't want it fixed?

Rhetorical question, part B: If it can't be fixed, how do I get over that I'm about to go through some of the biggest changes of my life, without my best friend?

Manymanymanymanymanymany thanks to those of you I CAN trust, who HAVE been there for me, and for Ari and I, and who understand how this is hurtful too, not just a piss-off.

At what point does one get over losing a best friend of over a decade anyway? After a month? Six months? A year? We're at 6 and counting ...

Happiest News Ever ...

We were approved this week to adopt ...
I never thought happiness and peace could be this complete.
Ari's parents - thru the moon.
My mother - full of advice
That as usual I listen to what I want to hear. ;)
But she's used to that.
My dad - happy.
Us - excited little puppies about what comes next
And when, and now most importantly, WHO.
Our journey at this point nears its end,
But has only just begun at the same time.
So keep us in your thoughts,
While offering up prayers of thanks.
And thanks for all of YOU who were pulling for us -
Especially those who were references,
Or have offered us baby things,
Or other tangible forms of support.
We can never thank you enough.
Much love always. XO - Sarah & Ari (AND BABY!)

This n That - Plus Prayer Request

So it's really coming, it's really here ...

Wednesday is our final homestudy. We will know, hopefully, with any kind of luck at all, by the end of the week if we are approved to adopt a child ... and then there is 'none to do but wait' ... could be May, could be much longer ... depending on whether the crop of (5) highly expectant mothers wanting to place their babies with this agency take to us or not ... and of course if we're approved ...

So anyone who has been sending prayers our way, or wants to send prayers our way ... this is the time to do it. Best wishes only, though, please, of course.

Other than that, wanted to drop an important link -

You can 'expand your wordpower' - very similar to that game in Readers Digest, it's a vocabulary builder - while every round you play donates a certain number of grains of rice to the third world through the UN - I've ensured 5000 grains of rice will be feeding the hungry this evening alone, and it took me only a half an hour or so of playing. AND IT'S FUN! Easiest thing you can ever do to feel good about yourself and waste time/procrastinate while NOT doing what you should be doing lol. GO THERE! It's hot stuff.

A bit of advice to you single gals out there ...

Don't ask if you can 'meet up with' a married man when you see he's in your town ... especially when you know his wife is on both of your contact lists ... and knows you've told him that you're lonely and miss him ... and when surely you can see from HER status that she is in Montreal. The stupidity of people sometimes. Argh.

Trying to get this song out of my head right now ... don't even know how it got in there! :P

Voicemail #1 - RENT.

That was a very loud beep.
I don't even know if this is working -
Mark? Mark are you there?
Are you screening your calls?
It's Mom.
We just wanted to call to say we love you
And we'll miss you tomorrow.
Cindy and the kids are here,
Send their love ...
Oh, and hope you liked the hot plate!
Just don't leave it on, dear,
When you leave the house.
Oh and Mark,
We're sorry to hear that Maureen dumped you;
I say "C'est la vie!"
So let her be a lesbian!
There are other fishies in the sea.
Love Mom!

Exciting times

Wow Blogger has been messed up a bit
Tried twice to post yesterday,
Couldn't.
Still seems to be loading slowly.

Lots going on -
One more homestudy for our adoption
No apparent concerns in sight yet,
And prospective expectant BMs
(birth mothers)
Mentioned.
So very hopeful ...
Hopefully by the spring/summer.

In the more immediate future -
Today having my father and step-mom over
For a belated birthday dinner
For Dad.
Tomorrow, I have my driving test
To get my "G"
(ie, my full license here in Ontario).

From the test, we are heading off
To Eastern Ontario,
Apparently hit hard by snow.
A pit stop in Kingston,
Our old stomping grounds,
Then on to Ottawa.

From there Montreal,
And my grandparents ...
So looking forward to it.
Love them ...

Report cards almost done -
Two classes left to go -
AND IT'S MARCH BREAK!!!!

With lots to look forward to,
I feel rejuvenated already,
And ready to face the last few months
Of this school year.

Wish me bonne chance,
Bon voyage, and
I will try to post as much as I can
This week - if not, know I am having
What I must say -
Unless it is tooting my own horn -
Is a much needed break
Before (hopefully!) life gets busier than ever.

To those with one -
Happy March Break.
To those without -
Have a great week anyway.
And don't forget to make sure your clocks have
Sprung Ahead ...

And that you have too.

Pax siempre.

PLUG! PLUG! SHAMELESS PLUG!

Although I guess not that shameless. Not for anyone I know or anything, just something I really enjoyed and want to share, so I guess that's legitimate. :)

MAYHEM POETS. Awesome awesome freestyle urban poetry/rap/hiphop with a great message, very inspiring but not 'pretty'. Just straight up cool. Inspired me to get back to poetry. lol About the only kind of writing I can actually *complete* these days apparently. It was THAT good.

Check it out - SO cool. Especially the video. Neat.
